We at Perspecta are seeking an NETWORK ENGINEER - SECRET CLEARANCE REQUIRED - Security+ and CISCO CCNA or Juniper equivalent certification required (Must be able to obtain Juniper certification within 30 days).


  • Responsible for configuring, managing, monitoring, and maintaining the government network infrastructure – Juniper and CISCO
  • Manage network design, device selection, installation, configuration, optimization, and troubleshoot the government network
  • Evaluate and report on new communications technologies to enhance capabilities of the network
  • Evaluate LAN/WAN performance and capacities to identify problem areas or bottlenecks
  • Recommend and implement solutions, software and tools to improve network performance and reliability
  • Perform a variety of network management services related to the operation, performance, or availability of data communications networks
  • Responsibility for overall performance and availability of networks
  • Provide LAN/MAN/CAN/WAN consultant support with skill in network analysis, integration, and tuning
  • Analyze client LANs/MANs/CAN/WANs, isolate source of problems and recommend reconfiguration and implementation of new network hardware to increase performance
  • Conduct load balancing efforts to achieve optimum device use and network performance
  • Coordinate with systems or communications engineering to resolve hardware problems
  • Work with customers and operations staff in scheduling preventive and emergency maintenance to include resolution of customer tickets
  • Candidate will be required to support on call duty for responding to network outages

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree (or similar technical field) and 7 years relevant professional experience; or commensurate education and experience
  • 3 – 5 years experience with networking technologies and concepts such as Layer 2 and Layer 3 protocols, including Cisco and Juniper devices, VLANs, VPNs, LAN/WAN technologies, and/or routing & switching
  • Minimum Security+ce and CISCO CCNA or Juniper equivalent certification required (Must be able to obtain Juniper certification within 30 days)
  • Experience analyzing, planning and designing successful local and wide area network infrastructures, routers, firewalls, switches, servers, and related hardware, software, and services
  • Commitment to maintaining the highest standard of customer service with outstanding written and oral communication
