About the Project/Team:
The UX team is made up of 3 designers, and this position will add a fourth designer. The UX Designers work directly with Developers, Business Analysts, and the Client, the County of San Diego(CoSD). The application that the team is designing will be used by approximately 600 internal County of San Diego users. Additionally, there will be a small portion of the end product that will be used by the general public. This is a three year project, planned to wrap up in 2022.
This is a very large enterprise web-development project that requires quality user experience and interfaces to enable the end users (County of San Diego property tax departments) to perform their day-to-day transactional business. This person will be responsible for researching, creating, and developing concepts and specifications that will optimize the structure and behavior of screen-based, software solutions for the mutual benefit of both the user and business. Work within this job family falls into three major categories: (1) enhancements- changes to original design and extensions to existing programs. (2) new interaction and interface designs (3) strategic interaction and interface design – new or improved Ix design language, user interface style guides, design archetypes, reusable design assets, etc.
This person will join a team of 3 other UX designers. Each member will be responsible for individual modules of the application, and they will all collaborate together and with the business analysts and the client (aka end users). The interview will be in case study format.
Requires 8 to 10 years with BS/BA or 6 to 8 years with MS/MA or 3 to 5 years with PhD.
