UC End Point Solutions Architect

Responsibilities

• Maintain endpoint design standards and offer improvements & suggestions to the customer as new technologies and systems become available, thereby ensuring the evolution of the AV standards take advantage of approved technological improvements
• Ensure integration and collaboration of Avaya video phones, Microsoft Skype and Outlook, Polycom systems and endpoints, Cisco systems and endpoints, ConnectedSign digital signage system, and the Cisco/vBrick Streaming-Portal-VideoOnDemand Service with the core collaborative enterprise environment
• Support and assist in UC fault isolation and performance management processes as requested for all endpoint and endpoint support elements
• Drive process improvement, deliver efficiency, and provide specifications for existing large scale and complex UC architecture to which solutions are defined, managed and delivered
• Provide oversight of physical implementation, installation change design and approval, and quality control and inspection of all contracted installations performed by separate installation manpower contract
• Design and implement UC endpoint, digital signage, video and teleconferencing (Cisco and Polycom) systems for waiting rooms, conference rooms, training rooms, and various other video requirements for all new facilities in conjunction with the UC requirements.
• Travel throughout the enterprise field sites for endpoint/room installations, modifications, solutions creation, customer interfacing, and installation oversight of contracted installer teams, and to perform quality control and assurance of installations
• Provide hands-on support as required wherever the issue or location may be
• Maintain, update and modify living documents on AV standards, which provide guidance to all UC endpoint installations
• Liaison with internal and external technical resources to define optimum solutions to quality challenges
• Maintain and update skillset as it relates to what are coming trends in UC technologies and methods of delivering a future-focused collaborative environment


Qualifications

This position is the subject matter expert for customer endpoints and room technology delivery solutions, ensuring collaboration and implementations that will take full advantage of the core provided UC services, with forethought on future technologies coming into the enterprise. The ability to represent the team in briefings and in presentations are key. This position is expected to provide hands-on support as desired by UC wherever the issue or location may be.

• Bachelor's Degree and 7 years of analysis related to design, development, and integration of hardware and software to support large scale UC environments
• Extensive experience with the following UC solutions – Polycom, Cisco, Avaya, ConnectedSign (digital signage), Crestron, and Cisco WebEx
• Hands-on familiarization with both Avaya and Cisco telecom switching systems
• Expertise in all UC and delivery vendor companies’ endpoint/customer portfolios
• Expert knowledge and experience implementing Avaya telephony and softphone and providing support for customers both in-premise and external
• Expert knowledge and experience configuring and supporting Polycom HDX Executive and Cisco Executive video teleconference systems and Polycom video teleconference rooms
• Expert knowledge and experience configuring and supporting Polycom Real Presence software VTC Desktop installations
• Expert knowledge and experience configuring and supporting Connected Sign digital signage systems
• Expert knowledge and experience configuring and supporting Cisco/vBrick video streaming-portal-VideoOnDemand Service
• Expert knowledge and experience configuring and supporting Cisco CallManager endpoint registration and survivability
• Expert knowledge and experience implementing Cisco Webinar/WebEx and providing support for customers both in-premise and external
